چکیده
Introduction: The production of large amounts reactive oxygen species in severe malarial infection is due to parasite invasion erythrocytes. Malaria resistance medication has left malaria-endemic countries with no alternate source medications but traditional medicine. One such plants utilized by healers Phyllanthus amarus. Therefore, this study aims at ascertaining the antiplasmodial and cytotoxic activities P. amarus its specific actions on retaining erythrocyte viability antioxidant activity. Methods: Antiplasmodial were determined vitro via suppression tetrazolium-based colorimetric assays, respectively. Antioxidant capacity was measuring extract’s ability inhibit lipid peroxidation, scavenge 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) superoxide ions, reduce iron(III) chelate iron using documented methods. Results: Alkaloid extracts showed great activity (IC50=0.52μg/mL) low (CC50=54.95 μg/mL). Erythrocyte assay minimal impact extract uninfected erythrocytes improved infected RBC a dose dependent manner, manifested mainly chelating (EC50=0.34 Conclusion: This suggests that alkaloid significant activities. These promoted repair parasite-induced free radical damage membrane distorted parasites redox balance defense mechanism, hence survival rate as indicated associated treatment infection.

Analgesic activity of aqueous leaf extract of Phyllanthus amarus.
Various doses of the aqueous extract of Phyllanthus amarus (AEPA) were investigated for analgesic and anti-inflammatory activities using both thermal and chemical models of pain assessment in rats. The extract caused a significant (P < 0.05) dose related increase inhibition of the carrageenan-induced paw oedema in the rats. The inhibition produced by 200 mg/kg AEPA (70.20%) was significantly hi...

The antioxidant property of the 70% aqueous ethanol extract of Phyllanthus amarus roots and its ether-soluble, ethyl acetate-soluble, and aqueous fractions were investigated by various in vitro assays. The root extracts showed higher DPPH, hydroxyl, superoxide, and nitric oxide radical scavenging and reducing power activity. Among all the samples, the ethyl acetate-soluble fraction demonstrated...

متن کاملHypoglycemic activity of ethanolic leaf extract of Phyllanthus amarus in alloxan induced diabetic mice
Phyllanthus amarus is an indigenous medicinal plant, with a folk reputation as hypoglycemic agent in Central and Southern India. In the present investigation hypoglycemic activity of ethanolic leaf extract of Phyllanthus amarus was evaluated using alloxan induced hyperglycemic mice. Blood glucose levels of all the mice of each group were tested before the treatments on fasting mice and then tes...
